Bill Clinton will be a no show for a speech in Scotland this week. The Aberdeen officials have their panties in a bind over a solution for Bubba’s no show.

Hundreds disappointed as Clinton calls off AECC date:

Organisers of the prestigious Bill Clinton lecture in Aberdeen, which was axed at the weekend, will be holding urgent talks to work out how to pay back thousands of pounds to people who bought tickets.

The shock news that the former US president would not be appearing at Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre emerged in an announcement from organisers PB Events that Mr Clinton was pulling out due to “unforeseen circumstances”.

Unforeseen circumstances…? I wonder what that means? An appointment with the divorce lawyer that day?

I can advise the organizers on Slick’s non-speaking engagement.

No urgent talks should be needed. Bring the ticket back, collect refund. Unless they paid Slick up front. If that’s the case consider it lost money.

Jack Murtha (democrat-PA) was quick to lay blame on these Marines for the killing of these Iraqis. He should be approached at every availability and confronted about the Haditha boondoggle.

A Marine intelligence officer accused of trying to cover up the killings of 24 Iraqis appeared stunned at first when a jury acquitted him of the charges.

For more than two years, 1st Lt. Andrew Grayson had been under suspicion, accused of ordering the destruction of evidence in the biggest U.S. criminal case involving Iraqi deaths to come out of the war.

“I didn’t really believe it was going to end until they said not guilty,” Grayson said in his first public comments following the verdict. “The case was so volatile, you didn’t know which way it was going to go.”

Grayson had always maintained his innocence. On Wednesday, a military jury agreed with him.

Cheers erupted as the jury found him not guilty of ordering a sergeant to delete photographs of the bodies from a digital camera and laptop computer.

The judge, Maj. Brian E. Kasprzyk, admonished the courtroom, telling them: “There will be no more of that.”

It was a reflection of the contentious nature of a case that saw Grayson painted by prosecutors as a liar who hindered an investigation. His attorneys said he was a fall guy for a botched investigation.

Grayson was the first of three Marines to be court-martialed in connection with killings of men, women and children on Nov. 19, 2005, in Haditha.

He was not present at the killings that occurred after a roadside bomb struck a convoy, killing a Marine and wounding two others.

Investigators allege that after the bombing, Staff Sgt. Frank Wuterich and a squad member shot five men by a car at the scene. Wuterich then allegedly ordered his men into several houses, where they cleared rooms with grenades and gunfire, killing more Iraqis in the process.

Four enlisted Marines initially were charged with murder and four officers were charged with failing to investigate the deaths. Charges were dropped against five of the Marines.

Grayson, of Springboro, Ohio, was found not guilty of two counts of making false official statements, two counts of trying to fraudulently separate from service, and one count of attempt to deceive by making false statements. He would have faced up to 20 years in prison if convicted on all counts.

Jack Murtha was quick to jump on this Haditha charge and infer that these Marines were guilty before any trial began.

Grayson fought back tears as he described the months leading up the trial.

He said he first found out he was under suspicion when he got a call from his commander months after the killings. A short time later, he was read the charges.

“It was surreal,” he said. “You can’t quite believe you are hearing all this.”

Grayson’s life was thrown into turmoil. He was barred from leaving the Marine Corps until the case was adjudicated. He had been scheduled to get out in June 2007.

Grayson said early on in the case he refused a deal that would have reduced charges and kept him out of prison.

“I was the one that had to look at myself in the mirror. To take the easy way out, you are the one that has to live with that,” he said.

During the darkest moments of the case, he said he leaned on his wife. The couple married in the middle of the investigation and gave up a honeymoon.

His wife, Susan, cried as she said what she had only dared to think about for months: “It’s over.”

Prosecutors did not make themselves available for comment.

Will Reverend Jeremiah Wright be President Obama’s Spiritual adviser?

Obama has not distanced himself far enough from Jeremiah Wright. After his appearance at the National Press Club with his entourage of Nation Of Islam Bodyguards along with Cornell West, Malik Zulu Shabazz of the New Black Panther Party, Nation of Islam official Jamil Muhammad and ex-convict Marion Barry.

This Three ring circus did nothing for Obama’s candidacy.

In Wright’s own words from the National Press Club on Monday Apr. 28, 2008

“I stand before you to open up this two-day symposium with the hope that this most recent attack on the black church is not an attack on Jeremiah Wright; it is an attack on the black church. … The most recent attack on the black church, it is our hope that this just might mean that the reality of the African-American church will no longer be invisible.”

On Obama’s renouncing some of his remarks:

“Politicians say what they say and do what they do based on electability, based on sound bites, based on polls, Huffington, whoever’s doing the polls. Preachers say what they say because they’re pastors. They have a different person to whom they’re accountable. As I said, whether he gets elected or not, I’m still going to have to be answerable to God November 5 and January 21. That’s what I mean. I do what pastors do. He does what politicians do. I am not running for office. I am hoping to be vice president. …

“He didn’t distance himself. He had to distance himself because he’s a politician. From what the media was saying I had said, which was anti-American. He said I didn’t offer any words of hope. How would he know? He never heard the rest of the sermon. You never heard it. I offered words of hope. I offered reconciliation, I offered restoration in that sermon, but nobody heard the sermon. They just heard this little sound bite of a sermon.”

On his God Damning the United States and if he should apologize:

“God doesn’t bless everything. God condemns some things. And dem, D-E-M, is where we get the word damn. God damns some practices and there’s no excuse for the things that the government, not the American people, have done. That doesn’t make me not like America or unpatriotic.”

On his claim that the US invented the AIDS virus to use against minorities:

“Based on this Tuskegee experiment and based on what has happened to Africans in this country, I believe our government is capable of doing anything.”

On claims that he is unpatriotic:

“I feel that those citizens who say that have never heard my sermons, nor do they know me. They are unfair accusations taken from sound bites and that which is looped over and over on certain channels. I served six years in the military. Does that make me patriotic? How many years did Cheney serve?”

This press conference was not about the black church in America, it was about Jeremiah Wright and nothing else. He did himself no favor by including the New Black Panthers and the Nation Of Islam as his goon squad for protection. Obama should be ashamed of this spectacle and express his disdain for Wright.

Jeremiah Wright, in all his omniscience, appeared on Bill Moyers’ PBS Show Friday evening April 25 and tried to justify his sermon God damning America. No matter how Wright tries to frame the reasoning for the sermon (from 2003) he falls on his face.

Moyers softball interview didn’t help Obama’s campaign either. It just resurrected another news cycle on Wright’s stupidity. To reiterate a common saying in the Right Blogosphere… Wright is Wrong.

You just have to love the left’s ability to shoot itself in the foot with nitwits like this that populate their ranks.

It sure looks like it may be. Clinton’s poll numbers aren’t reaching the lofty goal she has set for herself in Pennsylvania. Herself (HRC) might be supplanted by Himself(BHO). Bittergate is backfiring on the Clinton 2008 Campaign. The story hasn’t grown legs, turned into stumps, Hill’s fallen on her face. If she loses this time around she is cooked for any future run for the Presidency.

I’m not sure Hillary would win another term as Senator.

Barack Obama is leading Hillary Clinton in two of the next three Democratic primaries, an advantage, if it holds, that would allow him to sew up the nomination.

A new Bloomberg/Los Angeles Times poll of likely Democratic voters gives Clinton a 46 percent to 41 percent edge in Pennsylvania, and a similar 40 percent to 35 percent lead for Obama in Indiana. In North Carolina, Obama has a larger, 13- point advantage.

“To have a solid chance of winning the nomination she’d probably have to win all three” and get “a double-digit victory in Pennsylvania,” says Tad Devine, a former strategist for Democrat John Kerry’s 2004 presidential bid. “If she wins just one of the three, it may be difficult if not impossible for her to continue” and “if she loses Pennsylvania, it’s over.”

The poll offers some warnings for Democrats in the general election. More than two-fifths of voters in each of the three states say the controversy surrounding Obama’s former pastor, the Reverend Jeremiah Wright, will be a problem if the Illinois senator is the Democratic presidential nominee in the fall. In addition, at least one-fifth of voters in Indiana and North Carolina say they would vote for Republican candidate John McCain in the November election if their chosen Democratic candidate isn’t the party nominee.

No matter what the results are things are looking up for McCain.

Slate has a death watch widget up at it’s website. Even the liberal blogs are counting her last days in the campaign.

Whether or not she realizes it, Hillary Clinton is on a slow march to her political doom. She’s behind in the popular vote and has fewer pledged delegates and primary victories than Obama; she’s had only one superdelegate endorse her since March 4; and she’s losing ground to Obama in Pennsylvania polls at an alarming rate.

As a leading authority on stupid individuals I find it an insult that Barack Obama’s 20 year tenured pastor would try to infringe on my territory with his pronouncement of Bill O’Reilly’s and Sean Hannity’s Intelligence Quotient. Especially with the evident inane remarks he expressed in the past.

The embattled former minister of Democratic presidential hopeful Barack Obama fired back at the news media during a Chicago funeral service.

 

The Rev. Jeremiah Wright’s remarks were reported Sunday in the Chicago Sun-Times.

 

Wright didn’t mention church member Obama, who has denounced Wright’s inflammatory comments circulated in video excerpts of his past sermons.

 

But in his eulogy at Saturday’s funeral for the late R. Eugene Pincham, a retired judge, Wright did pillory some of his critics, including Fox News commentators Bill O’Reilly and Sean Hannity.

 

Wright said Pincham befriended “Jews, Muslims, rabbis, imams, fathers in the Catholic church and (Louis) Farrakhan in the Islamic faith.”

 

He said: “Fox News can’t understand that. O’Reilly will never get that. Sean Hannity’s stupid fantasy will keep him forever stuck on stupid when it comes to comprehending how you can love a brother who does not believe what you believe.”

 

The remarks drew a standing ovation. Officials said the megachurch’s 2,500-seats were filled with mourners.

 

Wright also spoke of patriotism and the history of America’s treatment of blacks. He said the country’s founding fathers “planted slavery and white supremacy in the DNA of this republic,” and said that Thomas Jefferson wrote, “God would punish America for the sin of slavery. I guess that makes Thomas Jefferson unpatriotic.”

 

Saturday’s funeral at Trinity United Church of Christ was closed to reporters. But the Sun-Times had a reporter inside the church. The newspaper’s Web site Sunday carried a recording of Wright’s remarks as he eulogized Pincham, who died at age 82 earlier this month following a long illness.

 

While Obama in the past has denounced the most inflammatory of Wright’s comments, the candidate has said Wright shouldn’t be judged solely on a handful of remarks. Obama expressed admiration and support for the pastor who officiated at his wedding, baptized his two daughters and inspired the title of his best-selling book, “The Audacity of Hope.”

I would suggest that the Reverend Jeremiah Wright stick to criticizing his own type.

Jimmy Carter one of our worst Presidents was in Ramallah Laying a wreath on the mausoleum of former AIDS infected Palestinian leader Yassar Arafat. President Bush refused the chore of laying the wreath on Arafat’s grave during his visit to the Middle East.

A rumored supporter of Barack Obama’s, Carter will remain in the region to meet with exiled Hamas leader Mashaal later in the week.

Carter also laid a wreath at the grave of Yasser Arafat, whom the Bush administration and many Israelis blame for the breakdown of peace talks seven years ago and the violence that followed.

At a reception in the West Bank town of Ramallah organized by Carter’s office, the former president hugged Nasser Shaer, a senior Hamas politician, meeting participants said. Embraces between men are a common custom in Arab culture.

“He gave me a hug. We hugged each other, and it was a warm reception,” Shaer told The Associated Press. “Carter asked what he can do to achieve peace between the Palestinians and Israel … and I told him the possibility for peace is high.”

Carter’s office refused to comment, saying he does not discuss closed meetings.

Shaer, who served as deputy prime minister and education minister in the Hamas-led Palestinian government that unraveled last year, is considered a leading member of the Islamic militant group’s pragmatic wing. After a stint in an Israeli prison last year, he is now a professor at a West Bank university, teaching comparative religion.

Israeli Foreign Ministry spokesman Yigal Palmor said Carter’s meeting with Hamas “dignified” a group committed to Israel’s destruction. “One cannot but wonder how this attitude is supposed to promote peace and understanding,” he said.

Carter continues to prove his disdain for Israel with this last outrage.

Jimmy’s creepiness factor is overwhelming. I wish he would stay there. It would the beginning of a cleansing that this country needs from traitorous hacks like Mr. Carter.
