Barack Obama is slated to begin his glorious campaign tour from a greek columned facade aptly named the Barackopolis at Invesco Field At Mile High Stadium in Denver.

Obama’s 75,000 to 85,000 disciples are required to be seated at least four hours prior to his final blessing before his forty day tour of the 57 states he plans to represent and govern.

Gates open at 1pm local time.  Obama isn’t supposed to speak until 8 pm local time.

Expect Bob Herbert to come out raging that the columns are racist phallic symbols if the speech does not go well for B. Hussein Obama.

The Politico describes the angst of some Democrats at the probability of event being gaffe ridden as the Berlin spectacle several months ago.

Senior Democratic officials are expressing serious concerns about the political risks posed by Barack Obama’s acceptance speech at Invesco Field at Mile High Stadium Thursday evening.

From the elaborate stagecraft to the teeming crowd of 80,000 cheering partisans, the vagaries of the weather to the unpredictable audience reaction, the optics surrounding the stadium event have heightened worries that the Obama campaign is engaging in a high-risk endeavor in an uncontrollable environment.

A common concern: that the stadium appearance plays against Obama’s convention goal of lowering his star wattage and connecting with average Americans and that it gives Republicans a chance to drive home their message that the Democratic nominee is a narcissistic celebrity candidate.

“We already know he is a rock star, we already know he can bring 85,000 people together in a stadium. He has done it multiple times. He needs to talk to people who haven’t made up their minds yet,” said Tennessee Gov. Phil Bredesen.

“It’s likely that the campaign would do it differently if it had to do it again because the decision was made before the European trip,” said a senior Democratic elected officeholder who has worked closely with the Obama campaign. The GOP narrative of Obama as celebrity took root during that trip, where the Illinois senator played to large crowds of adoring Europeans.

The McCain Campaign will have a field day with this circus.

The Republicans will be in Denver to voice their opposition to Barack Obama with a truth forum. Rudy And Romney will be in Denver to deliver a dose of Reality during the Democrat Party Convention in Denver next week.

You’ve  just got to love it:

The two former presidential candidates will be among two dozen or so Republicans in the city hoping to get their party’s message out during a week dominated by Democratic festivities.

Their slogan? “Not Ready ’08: A Mile High and an Inch Deep,” a play on the nickname for the high-altitude city in the western United States.

Republican presidential candidate John McCain, Obama’s rival for the November 4 election, is expected to keep a relatively low profile that week, though he is scheduled to appear as a guest on “The Tonight Show” talk show on Monday.
