Bill Clinton has lost his luster with the MSM and Liberals. The “First Black President” is experiencing a scathing tell-all article written by Dee Dee Myers’ husband Todd Purdum. Dee Dee was Bill Clinton’s first Press Secretary when Bill could do no wrong.

Now the Liberal Media has a new “fair haired boy” with Barack Obama. The Clintons will be thrown off to the side of the road with no fear of retribution. Bill and Hillary have lost their power in the Democrat Party with her waning candidacy for President.

Old friends and longtime aides are wringing their hands over Bill Clinton’s post–White House escapades, from the dubious (and secretive) business associations to the media blowups that have bruised his wife’s campaign, to the private-jetting around with a skirt-chasing, scandal-tinged posse. Some point to Clinton’s medical traumas; others blame sheer selfishness, and the absence of anyone who can say “no.” Exploring Clintonworld, the author asks if the former president will be consumed by his own worst self.

Clinton’s Secrets:

This winter, as Clinton moved with seeming abandon to stain his wife’s presidential campaign in the name of saving it, as disclosures about his dubious associates piled up, as his refusal to disclose the names of donors to his presidential library and foundation and his and his wife’s reluctance to release their income-tax returns created crippling and completely avoidable distractions for Hillary Clinton’s own long-suffering ambition, I found myself asking again and again, What’s the matter with him?

As I sought to answer that question for myself, in conversations with dozens of current and onetime Clinton aides, many of whom I have known all these years (Clinton himself declined to be interviewed), I realized just how much about the former president is not known, and not knowable, at the moment, mostly because of his unapologetic stonewalling. Virtually no one, except Ron Burkle, knows just what Clinton put into Burkle’s investment business, or just what he has done since to earn millions of dollars, with the prospect of reaping millions more. Most of the names of the donors who have contributed some $500 million to Clinton’s library and foundation over the past decade are not known, either. Virtually no one, except his doctors and family, knows the precise state of Clinton’s health. Virtually no one really knows what strategic role he has played in his wife’s campaign.

Two Bimbos: Monica Lewinsky and Eleanor Mondale

…in the run-up to the 1996 re-election campaign, when Clinton took one of his many fund-raising trips to California, I teasingly asked his press secretary, Mike McCurry, whether the president intended to go jogging with Eleanor Mondale, the daughter of the former vice president—as he had on a previous trip—after he was spotted with her (and Barbra Streisand) in the wee hours of the morning. The next day, as we boarded the plane at Andrews Air Force Base en route to Los Angeles, McCurry, whose effectiveness as Clinton’s spokesman was aided by the fact that he never fell in love with him, sidled up to me and told me that he had passed my question on to the president, and that Clinton had responded, in vivid terms he knew I could not print, that I should not confuse exercise with extracurricular activity.

Only much later would the world learn that no less an informed observer than Monica Lewinsky, whose judgment, in hindsight, has often seemed sounder than the president’s, had taken note of Mondale’s presence at his side. According to Andrew Morton’s authorized account Monica’s Story, Lewinsky flew into a swivet when she was once stopped at the White House gate on her way to a hoped-for meeting to deliver Christmas gifts to the president. While waiting, she learned that Mondale was with him in the White House.

“Do you think I would be stupid enough to go running with someone I was foolin’ with?,” Clinton later asked Lewinsky. Without missing a beat, she replied, “Do you want me to answer that?”

Purdum claims that about 18 months ago, a former Clinton aide planned an intervention with the former president because he was hearing so many complaints about strange and inappropiate behavior. The aide believed “Clinton was apparently seeing a lot of women on the road.”

The aide was rebuffed by close Clinton advisors and never got to speak with him directly. The attempted intervention was not well received by either Clinton.

Purdum’s article covers eight web pages and describes Bubba truthfully … finally.

Purdum’s description of Slick’s mounting peccadillos as described by Clinton aides and “close associates” has the Clinton camp in a frenzy decrying the “inaccuracies’ of the Vanity Fair Article.
Finally after 8 plus years of scandals and lies the chickens are coming home to roost. Albeit too late…

It seemed like a typical night at the LBJ White House: Nearly midnight on October 7, 1964, just three weeks before the presidential election, and, as usual, Walter Jenkins was working late. The first staff member to arrive in the morning and the last to leave at night, President Lyndon B. Johnson’s dedicated aide often put in 16-hour days. From his tiny, undistinguished office, no bigger than a walk-in closet, one would never have known that Jenkins was the president’s most trusted adviser. (In a typically modest gesture, he had given the sizable, prestigious office with the large French windows and fireplace that had been assigned to him to his secretaries.) Few would have suspected that this mild-mannered 46-year-old White House staffer?with horn-rimmed glasses, a rumpled suit, a middle-aged paunch, and a face often flush from high-blood pressure exacerbated by overwork?was one of the most powerful men in Washington. Although Jenkins was preoccupied that night with something other than the upcoming election and the many phone calls he still hadn’t returned, he gave no hint of what was on his mind, not even to his private secretary, Mildred Stegall. “I never did know anything was wrong,” she says today. “He didn’t mention anything. We just did our work until pretty late.” She had no idea that Jenkins had just been through a terrible ordeal, that a few hours earlier he had been arrested, then fingerprinted and interrogated at a police station just blocks from the White House. It was one of many secrets Jenkins kept.

A week later, Liz Carpenter, press secretary to the first lady, got a phone call from Charles Seib, then the assistant managing editor of Washington’s Evening Star. “‘Look, we’ve got a story that’s going to press,’ ” Carpenter recalls Seib telling her. ” ‘Has Walter been hospitalized? Has he had a breakdown?’” he asked her. Carpenter could hardly believe what the reporter told her next: The Star was investigating a report that Jenkins had been arrested on a sex charge. When Carpenter called Jenkins to inquire about the story, he said he would call her back. He never did. Instead he called his friend Abe Fortas, a sharp Tennessee lawyer whom Johnson later appointed to the Supreme Court, and told him, “A terrible thing has happened.” Jenkins immediately headed to Fortas’ house, but by the time he arrived he was so distraught that Fortas had trouble getting the story out of him. Jenkins rambled incoherently that he was “destroying President Johnson” and threatened to shoot himself. Through his tears he mentioned the YMCA and the police. Although Fortas was unable to get any more details, he easily figured out what had happened: Jenkins had been arrested far having sex with another man in the health club’s men’s room. As Fortas later explained to an FBI investigator, “It was common knowledge among Washington attorneys that the YMCA was the home of homos.”

The next day, Jenkins’ arrest was front-page news across the country. After having labored over the course of his entire career in relative obscurity and anonymity, and at pains never to call attention to himself?despite his enormous power and influence?Jenkins became, for a few short weeks in 1964, the most famous homosexual in America. A Harris poll taken at the time found that 87 percent of Americans knew his name. Then, just as quickly, other news knocked the Jenkins story off the front page?within days, Soviet premier Khrushchev was sent packing to his dacha, British voters elected Harold Wilson and tossed out the Tories*, and the Chinese dropped their first nuclear bomb. And despite the hopes of the Republicans and the fears of the Democrats, the Jenkins scandal had virtually no effect on the presidential election a few weeks later: Johnson humiliated Barry Goldwater in what was then the biggest landslide in American history. According to the Harris poll, more than two thirds of the American people said the scandal made no difference to them (about the same number who shrugged their shoulders when confronted with revelations about President Clinton’s sex life last year). The public’s reaction is even more astonishing when one considers that, at the time, homosexuality was still a tremendous taboo; the same year, Life magazine published a widely read article that characterized gay life as a “sad and often sordid world.” Yet the incident signaled a transformation of public attitudes toward homosexuality?if not outright acceptance, then at least an acknowledgment that gay men and lesbians existed, and even a sympathy for them that would one day make acceptance possible. “It was just at the stage where people were becoming aware that there were gay people,” says Carpenter. “We got a lot of mail that said, ‘I have that in my family.’ So did Walter, very heartfelt letters. It was becoming accepted as a situation that wasn’t unusual.” But it was too late for Jenkins. His 25-year political career destroyed, he faded once again into obscurity, his life reduced to little more than a footnote in history.

Former U.S. President Bill Clinton has a new pastime far from fund raising for worthy causes — designing a crossword puzzle for The New York Times.

Clinton wrote the clues for an online crossword puzzle published this weekend by the Times, filled with puns, pop culture references and plays on words.

The theme of the puzzle is "Twistin' the Oldies," with clues seeking updated versions for baby boomers of musical hits by artists such as Neil Sedaka and Carly Simon.

In an editor's note, Times' puzzle editor Will Shortz wrote: "The clues in this puzzle are a little more playful and involve more wordplay than in a typical crossword. You have been warned."

Shortz told Reuters the Times gave Clinton the puzzle grid and the theme, and the former president provided the clues. Shortz said he did very little editing.

That makes me want to run right out and get a copy of the NY Slimes….

Blast From The Past: Clinton Scandals, Janet Reno & The Termination of 93 U.S. Attorneys

In the wake of the Democrat Party’s attack on Attorney General Gonzales for the firing of 8 US Attorneys all we have to do look back to the Clinton Regime in the 1990′s for Billary’s hypocrisy.

In the history of the Republic, the names of Bill Clinton and Janet Reno will be forever linked, a prospect that ought to appall Miss Reno. That is entirely due to her efforts to preserve the President from his own follies, to use a polite word. Bill Clinton heads what is probably the most corrupt Administration ever, while Miss Reno has been called the worst of all Clinton’s Cabinet appointments. From his point of view, of course, she may be the best, which comes to much the same thing.

Miss Reno’s only visible qualifications for the post of attorney general were two: she is a woman and she had been a prosecutor. The first characteristic was indisputable, although, in any non-feminized era, it would have been irrelevant. The second seemed heartening, but it did not prepare her for Washington. Coming from obscurity, she must have been caught off guard by the rampant corruption into which she was thrust. So varied and unceasing have been this Administration’s infractions of law that Miss Reno resembles a desperate tennis player, running from side to side of the court and from net to baseline in a frantic effort to hold down the score. Unfortunately for her White House coach, she is becoming winded and wobbly-legged.

She was not in charge from the beginning. Upon taking office, in an unexplained departure from the practice of recent Administrations, Miss Reno suddenly fired all 93 U.S. attorneys. She said the decision had been made in conjunction with the White House. Translation: The President ordered it. Just as the best place to hide a body is on a battlefield, the best way to be rid of one potentially troublesome attorney is to fire all of them. The U.S. attorney in Little Rock was replaced by a Clinton protege. The long-running Waco emergency that culminated in the deaths of eighty Branch Davidian men, women, and children again proved that Janet Reno was not in charge in the Justice Department. Webster Hubbell, Hillary’s former law partner in Little Rock and Bill’s man at Justice, coordinated tactics with the White House. The President did not even talk to his attorney general throughout the crisis.

Scandal followed scandal. Clinton had hardly been sworn in when he fired the entire staff of the White House travel office. The object, it seems clear, was to divert business to friends of the Clintons. The firings were so obviously unsupportable that the FBI was told to issue a press release suggesting criminality in the travel office. The head of the office was indicted and tried, but acquitted almost instantly. An inquiry suggested that Hillary Clinton ordered the coup. Then it was discovered that the White House had asked for and received nine hundred raw FBI files on Republicans. Nobody knew who had issued the request or hired the unqualified security officer who carried it out. The evidence pointed to Hillary, but she denied responsibility. If her denials were false, she probably committed indictable offenses. Janet Reno sat on her hands until she got all these matters out of her bailiwick by handing them off to the independent counsel.

On the night of Vincent Foster’s suicide, his notes and files disappeared. White House Counsel Bernard Nussbaum removed the documents, reneging on his previous agreement to let Justice Department lawyers examine them. This prompted the deputy attorney general, Philip Heymann, who resigned shortly thereafter, to ask, "Bernie, are you hiding something?"

The Democrats’ Hypocrisy is too evident. The Republicans need to acquire stones and aggressively counter attack the Dems on their duplicity.

     THE PRESIDENT: My fellow Americans, all of us are saddened by the news that former President Gerald R. Ford passed away last night. I spoke with Betty Ford. On behalf of all Americans Laura and I extend to Mrs. Ford and all President Ford’s family our prayers and our condolences.

President Ford was a great man who devoted the best years of his life in serving the United States.   He was a true gentleman who reflected the best in America’s character. Before the world knew his name, he served with distinction in the United States Navy and in the United States Congress.

As a congressman from Michigan, and then as Vice President, he commanded the respect and earned the good will of all who had the privilege of knowing him. On August 9, 1974, he stepped into the presidency without ever having sought the office. He assumed power in a period of great division and turmoil. For a nation that needed healing and for an office that needed a calm and steady hand, Gerald Ford came along when we needed him most.

During his time in office, the American people came to know President Ford as a man of complete integrity who led our country with common sense and kind instincts.

Americans will always admire Gerald Ford’s unflinching performance of duty and the honorable conduct of his administration, and the great rectitude of the man himself.

We mourn the loss of such a leader, and our 38th President will always have a special place in our nation’s memory.

     President Ford lived 93 years, and his life was a blessing to America. And now this fine man will be taken to his rest by a family that will love him always, and by a nation that will be grateful to him forever.

May god bless Gerald Ford.
