Firebrand Montana Governor Brian Schweitzer bragged to a convention of trial lawyers to have rigged the 2006 Montana’s elections in favor of the Democrat Party.

Critics of Gov. Brian Schweitzer are taking aim at remarks he made at a trial lawyers’ convention earlier this year in which he implied that he used his position as governor to influence the outcome of the 2006 mid-term election.

Schweitzer, speaking at the American Association for Justice annual convention in Philadelphia on July 14, told a room full of convention-goers that he helped “turn some dials” to get fellow Democrat Jon Tester elected to the U.S. Senate.

In his speech, Schweitzer claimed he played a role in removing GOP poll watchers from Montana’s Indian reservations; that he influenced the timing of the release of election results in Butte-Silver Bow County; and that he pressured the Associated Press to call the race for Tester on Nov. 8.

On Wednesday Schweitzer backed off those remarks, saying his speech at the trial lawyers’ convention was meant to be humorous and that many of the comments weren’t actually true.

“You know, humor can work sometimes and sometimes it can offend, and this time around it offended some folks,” Schweitzer said Wednesday afternoon.

Schweitzer’s speech was recorded and recently posted anonymously on the Internet, where conservative bloggers were quick to attack the remarks. By Tuesday, news of the speech had traveled throughout Montana’s political circles and was causing a mild uproar among some Republicans.

Kwame Kilpatrick Democrat Mayor of Detroit accepted a plea bargained. He resigned.

Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick, who will lose his job because he lied while under oath at a police whistle-blower trial, has just pledged to tell the truth as he prepares to admit his guilt as part of a plea deal he just struck with the Wayne County Prosecutor.

The deal calls for Kilpatrick to plead guilty to two felony counts of obstruction of justice by committing perjury, agreeing to serve four months in jail, pay up to $1 million in restitution, and serve five years’ probation. He also agreed not to run for office during that five-year span.

The mayor will turn over his state pension to the City of Detroit, which paid $8.4 million to settle two whistle-blower lawsuits three former cops filed against the city. The mayor was charged with eight felony counts ranging from conspiracy to perjury to misconduct in office to obstruction of justice after the Free Press revealed that the mayor lied on the witness stand during a police whistle-blower trial and gave misleading testimony about whether he intended to fire a deputy police chief investigating allegations of wrongdoing by members of his inner circle.

Powerful Ways And Means Committee Chairman Charlie Rangel has questionable filings on rental income on a vacation home he owns in the Dominican Republic. Charlie is silent on these earnings which he says don’t exist contrary to other claims.

The NY Post has an expose on Charlie’s shady dealings:

For 20 years, Harlem Rep. Charles Rangel has owned a beachfront villa in a sun-drenched Dominican Republic resort, yet has only sporadically declared income on the property in federal filings.

While the villa was rented to paying guests for the past two years, for instance, Rangel reported no income from it in 2006 and 2007, The Post has learned. As a congressman, failure to fully list all income and investments can result in civil penalties or criminal charges.

The powerful Ways and Means Committee chairman, a Democrat, owns “casita” No. 412 on the Caribbean Sea at the Punta Cana Hotel, on the lush eastern tip of the country, where he is affectionately known as “el senador.”

His three-bedroom, three-bath villa, which can accommodate three couples, is rented for between $500 in the low season to $1,100 a night in the busiest tourist season and is one of the resort’s most popular, managers and staff say.

“You are requesting the best casita on the beach,” a reservations manager told a Post reporter posing as a customer.

“We are always booked solid on that one between December 15 and April 15. It is always the first one to go,” he said.

The 78-year-old Rangel’s stone-covered cottage – which boasts flat-screen TVs and a panoramic ocean view – was open to hotel guests in the past two years, General Manager Carolina Jones told The Post.

“It’s part of the hotel operation. It’s available to customers at all times,” Jones said of No. 412. Typically, the owners of the casitas earn 80 percent of any rental income, staff said.

A 2007 Associated Press photograph, suppressed until now, shows the school register of the child who is today known as Barack Hussein Obama but was officially listed then as Barry Soetoro, whose citizenship was listed as “Indonesian” and whose religion was listed as “Islam.” The visual evidence starkly contradicts the Obama campaign’s claim that he was not a Muslim and confirms that he is a national of at least one other country.

In addition, it raises the highly problematic issue of what is Obama’s official name. If it turns out to Barry Soetoro, and no official change of name was ever made, Obama may face an array of charges of deception and misprision that may throw into doubt, at the very least, his fitness to run.

Deep doubts remain about the veracity of the “certificate of live birth” image produced for his campaign by the radical left-wing Daily Kos blog. There are reports that investigative teams — from the Republican and Democratic parties as well as various intelligence agencies — are seeking out the details of his murky childhood from Kenya to Indonesia. There are indications of growing disquiet in the circles of power that the so-called “smears” may have understated the gravity of the candidate’s identity problem: he may not be American, he was not raised Christian and, it appears, he was not Barack Hussein Obama.

The evidence of the candidate’s un-American, un-Christian upbringing is nothing new, and has been documented by bloggers as early as 2007 and by Israel Insider in our very first report on this subject in June of this year. But until now the photograph of his school record has been lacking. The image is dated from 2007 and was apparently taken to accompany an AP article that appeared in January of that year. Ironically, that article was about how Obama was rejecting the untrue charge that the public school he attended was a radical Indonesian madrassa.

More info needs to be released on Obama (or Barry Soetoro). This info will be suppressed by the Obama (Soetoro) campaign and the questions will continue to be unanswered by the Democrat Party nominee.

John Edwards finally admitted to what has been known for some time.  He has a mistress, Rielle Hunter, but will not admit to being the father of her child. Edwards, being the man that he is, is willing to submit to a paternity test. I don’t want to have to hold my breath waiting for that to happen.

New Jersey Assemblyman & Alleged Child Pornography Collector

Another Democrat resigning office on Child porn related allegations. New Jersey Assemblyman Neil Cohen resigned admitting that he needed Psychiatric help. A common excuse for Democrats.

Veteran state Assemblyman Neil Cohen resigned this morning, less than a week after child pornography was allegedly found on his legislative office computer.

Cohen (D-Union) submitted his one-sentence resignation letter to clerk of the Assembly at 9:24 a.m., said Derek Roseman, spokesman for the Assembly Democrats.

It read: “Please accept this letter as my formal resignation from the General Assembly of the State of New Jersey, effective immediately.”

Assembly Speaker Joseph J. Roberts Jr. (D-Camden) said he accepted Cohen’s letter of resignation.

“The allegations made against Assemblyman Cohen, if true, are sad and indefensible,” Roberts said in a written statement.

“Assemblyman Cohen was a respected legislator who dedicated his life to the Statehouse and whose legacy would have been great. Unfortunately, all of that will now be forever overshadowed,” Roberts said. “While law enforcement reviews these allegations, we sincerely hope he receives the help he desperately needs.”

Cohen, 57, voluntarily sought psychiatric care last week after investigators seized his office computer.

A staffer in the Union Township office allegedly discovered a computer printout of a nude girl that was traced back to Cohen’s computer. The two Democratic lawmakers who share the office with Cohen– Sen. Raymond Lesniak and Assemblyman Joseph Cryan– then informed the Legislature’s Office of Legislative Services, which notified the Attorney General’s Office.

The Democrat party controlled congress has reached a record low approval rating.  Will the Pelosi-Reid partnership continue for another 2 years?  Is the electorate still asleep?

Congress’ job approval rating has dropped five percentage points over the past month, from 19% in June to 14% in July, making the current reading the lowest congressional job approval rating in the 34-year Gallup Poll history of asking the question. The previous low was 18%, last reached in May.

The 75% currently disapproving of Congress is just shy of the record-high 78% in March 1992.

These results, from a July 10-13 Gallup Poll, follow 18 months of dismal job approval ratings for Congress, during which approval has usually registered below 30%, and has averaged only 25%.

Still, the 14% approval rating is extraordinary. Approval of Congress has fallen below 20% only six times in the 34 years Gallup has measured it. Including the latest reading, four of those have come in the past year: in July, June, and May 2008, and in August 2007. The two additional readings were from March 1992 (in the midst of the House bank check-kiting scandal) and June 1979 (during an energy crisis that resulted in surging gas prices and long gas lines), when either 18% or 19% of Americans approved of the job Congress was doing.

The latest Rasmussen poll shows that President Bush has a low approval rating of 33% (twice that of Congress’ approval).

For the week ending July 13, just 33% of Americans say they approve of the way that George W. Bush is performing his job as President.

William Jefferson the Democrat Congressman from New Orleans with a Federal Indictment hanging over his head has relatives with similar problems.

His 52 year old sister, Brenda Jefferson plead guilty to misprision of a felony on Wednesday. She received over $85,000 for clerical work for several family members accused of defrauding a federal government program.

Brenda Jefferson was employed by family members that allegedly pocketed more than $600,000 in state and federal grant money meant for charities and educational projects.

She could receive three years in prison and as much as a $250,000 fine.
