Deerfield Beach, Florida: Joe Biden was asked whether he would “pursue the violations that have been made against our Constitution by the present administration”, the Senator from Delaware affirmed they would.
“We will not be stopped from pursuing any criminal offense that’s occurred,” he continued, going on to praise congressional committees for the deliberate pace of their inquiries into alleged Bush administration misdeeds.
Members of Congress are “doing the right thing, they’re not making false accusations about anything … they’re collecting data, subpoenaing records, they’re building a file.”
“If there has been a basis upon which you can pursue someone for a criminal violation, they will be pursued – not out of vengeance, not out of retribution, out of the need to preserve the notion that no one, no attorney general, no president — no one is above the law.”
Biden was on Fox News Channel this morning on Fox and Friends and denied he said that.
And the problem with this is….. what?
If Cheney or Rove (speaking purely hypothetically, of course) were guilty of criminal conduct, they should be prosecuted. Like selectively leaking classified information to the press. Like manufacturing false “evidence” by manipulating U.S. intelligence agencies (which is a criminal act).
Don’t do the crime if you’re not prepared to do the time.

Biden actually denied talking about this within 24 hours of saying it…hilarious. Almost as hilarious as him denying this morning that he DOES not meet with lobbyists on CNN:

But…just last December on CBN, this was what Biden said about lobbyists:

You go out, Lynn, and bundle $250,000 for me, all legal, and then you call me after I’m elected say, “Joe, I’d like to come and talk to you about something.” You didn’t buy me, but it’s human nature. I’m going to say, “Sure, let him come on in.” Just like, by the way, if I turn around and I’m elected president of the United States of America, and you call me and say, “Joe, I want to come and see you,” I’m going to see you. ”
Haaa….time to start resonsidering that Veep choice Obama.
If Bushie and the Big Dick had two more years left, I’d be willing to bet they’d be impeached. And before you claim it’s just partisan politics at work, I’d point out that I agreed that Clinton should have been impeached and removed from office. Perjury by the President ought to be considered a high crime and misdemeanor. As is leaking classified info to reporters and playing with the national security apparatus in order to gin up a case for war in Iraq.
All that said, I thought Dennis Kuchinich’s efforts were a waste of time. History will not care about words said in the House of Representatives without any outcome.
