Just wait for the nutroots to fabricate some untruths about this. She chose to bear a living being. Thank God she isn’t a member of NARAL and decided new life was disposable.
From Fox News:
The 17-year-old unwed daughter of Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin is five-months pregnant, Palin and her husband, Todd Palin, said Monday in a written statement.
John McCain’s newly named running mate confirmed the story after rumors circulated on the Internet that Palin’s 4-month-old son was actually her daughter Bristol’s child.
McCain’s campaign told FOX News that the presumptive Republican presidential candidate knew about Bristol Palin’s pregnancy before he chose Palin as his running mate last Friday, and that Bristol is planning to marry the father of her child. The baby is due in late December.
“We have been blessed with five wonderful children who we love with all our heart and mean everything to us,” the Palins said in the statement. “Our beautiful daughter Bristol came to us with news that as parents we knew would make her grow up faster than we had ever planned. We’re proud of Bristol’s decision to have her baby and even prouder to become grandparents. As Bristol faces the responsibilities of adulthood, she knows she has our unconditional love and support.”
Mary Jo Kopechne had no response to this news.

You guys aren’t Stuck on Stupid. You’re more ignorant and classless.
Even though it has no real connection here, you have to take the cheapest of cheap shots at a guy dying of a brain tumor??
What’s the matter, afraid he’s going to die before you can unload all of your pent-up Teddy gibes? Don’t worry: you guys will find a way to sneak them into his obituary.
Flat out disgusting.

Diogenes–
yes, it’s really awful to condemn a guy who got away with murder.
You are, indeed, flat out disgusting.
It’s a gratuitous swipe, Trish. This subject has nothing to do with Teddy Kennedy.
To whomever wrote this:
Brilliant preemptive strike against the liberals’ unending hypocrisy.
Teddy is the modern day liberals’ father figure. Someone I would admire /sarcasm.
Diogenes has been drinking the Koolaid. Don’t blame him for his ideology it has been driven into his brain by the Socialist Democrats that are trying to overtake the U.S. today.
It’s got nothing to do with ideology. It’s got nothing to do with socialism.
It’s got everything to do with basic human decency.
If your argument is that there are some who aren’t treating Bristol Palin with basic human decency, I wouldn’t disagree.
But you don’t make that argument by taking a cheap shot at a dying man that is at the minimum lacking in the same basic human decency. Especially since that dying man never said Word One about Sara Palin or Bristol Palin’s pregnancy.
“Brilliant preemptive strike against hypocrisy”?
Fighting hypocrisy with more and greater hypocrisy certainly isn’t “brilliant”. It’s loathsome and beneath contempt.
Come on Diogenes, we are all dying, we just don’t always have the benefit of knowing when. Does that mean that Kennedy’s unforgivable, cowardly behavior never happened. Does that mean his callous disregard for a woman gasping into an air pocket for hours, AS SHE WAS DYING, is okay. He tried to get his cousin to say he was driving before he mentioned the accident to authorities. He wasn’t concerned for his cousin or Miss Kopechne’s agonizing death and we should ignore his hideous behavior. He knows about when his end will come, now he has a better idea about when the bill for his arrogant self serving conduct will come due.
While I agree the title has little to do with the article (other than to point out the contrast in how these two people value human life), diogenes’ “human decency” defense is laughable. One must act like a human (save someone who is dying due to your error) to merit human decency.
