Or is he just a pompous ass that speaks out of both sides of his mouth? He is and will be whatever the moment dictates. Recently he displayed his snobbishness when he was speaking at a fundraiser in San Francisco the home of the ultimate of the left wing elitists.
His attitude toward the voters in the blue collar districts seem to be considered socially inferior to the Elite Democrat Party Hierarchy that he considers himself as a member.
In Obama’s own words on that day in San Francisco:
You go into these small towns in Pennsylvania and, like a lot of small towns in the Midwest, the jobs have been gone now for 25 years and nothing’s replaced them. And they fell through the Clinton administration, and the Bush administration, and each successive administration has said that somehow these communities are gonna regenerate and they have not.
And it’s not surprising then they get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy toward people who aren’t like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations.
Maybe the Pelosi types like what they are hearing from Obama, but most other Americans through the Midwest, Pennsylvania and the rest of the country don’t appreciate his San Franciscan diatribe on that fateful Sunday last week.

He’s an Ivy League elitist! He’s also pompous, but I think you have to be to be a politician. What could be more pompous that telling the great unwashed that you will deliver them to the promised land, like Moses leading God’s people. Or politicians playing Jesus (and failing miserably), promising the loaves and the fishes to everyone. PT Barnum was right, there is a sucker born every minute, and there’s a whole horde of condescending politicians clamoring for their votes.

Obama’s whole brand depended on being someone who could bring America together past stereotypes. His comments since the Rev. Wright scandal have oozed with bias and reverse stereotyping. What does he have left? His experience? Will he protect us? Will tax and spend help the economy?
Doesn’t it sound like Obama is talking about urban blacks instead of rural whites? “Clinging to religion and guns and anti-everyone-who-doesn’t-look-like-us” — Is there a BETTER description of the urban black … um, community?
