Was it not Nancy Polosi that named the Republicans the party of corruption? I have not heard any comments from Speaker Polosi on any of these Democrats.

Everybody decried Romney staunch stance on religion, yet are appalled at the sordid behavior of one government official after another. Can anybody here spell HYPOCRICY?

I am all for good ole fashion muck-wraking as far as the media is concerned. To be sure it is one of the best checks and balances our nation has. But I beleive the press, on this subject, like so many others (the presidential race) are selfishly choosing to pursue stories that are sensational over ones that are truly relavent. So Gov. Paterson had an affair and he partied a little in the 70's. Both of which he came out with to get out of the way. If we went after every politician that was unfaithful or played with drugs in their youth, we would have no government.
As a New York State employee, I am absolutely sick of reading the "love gov" stories, when the press should be researching and putting pressure on our public officals to come up with a viable budget that is due in a week. Enough of the gossip that is better left to the tabloids. As it is the press that steers what the public sees, I call for the media to take more responsiblity for the information they choose to publish and the consequences of those reports. Grow up!!!

What is saddest is that marriage is so meaningless. I would have a lot more respect for a person that ended an unhappy marriage rather than stay in a failed relationshop for personal political gain. I have no problem with the prior drug use, so long as Paterson is now a law abiding adult. I do agree that the media will be softer on this than they would with a Republican.

The interesting thing is, that the Democratic-laden MSM is even reporting this. If this were a Republican, it would be the #1 story on every front page across the land. So, we have Spitzer running around with a high-price Call Girl, and now his replacement, Democratic Gov. Paterson, actually had a concubine... and his wife had her version. Not to mention hard drugs.

Not to mention that the Democratic Mayor of Detroit seems to have trouble telling the truth about his affairs. Felony prison time?

And the Democrat's MSM went crazy about a Republican Montana Senator that played footsy in a bathroom stall?

The moral of the story is that we all have our shortcomings; I would not go too hard on the above people - except that the MSM/Democrats are so ruthless about going after conservatives that fall short. Because of that, I think the above should be driven out of public life, tried, and sentenced if convicted.
