Barack Kicks Grandma While She's Under The Bus: My White Grandma Is A Typical White Person

Obama with his “typical white” Grandma

Barack threw Grandma under the bus during his “Historical Race Speech” now he is kicking her further under the chassis. The man doesn’t know when to just shut up.

During an interview on a radio show in Philadelphia on Thursday morning Barack Obama described his grandmother as a typical white person.

“”The point I was making was not that my grandmother harbors any racial animosity, but that she is a typical white person. If she sees somebody on the street that she doesn’t know there’s a reaction in her that doesn’t go away and it comes out in the wrong way.”

Here is the audio of that interview. At about 2:12 into the audio are his remarks on his Grandmother.

Notice how the interviewer at the end of the segment fawns over Obama’s remarks and ignores Barack’s ignorance. The short sightedness of the liberal media.

“He exudes charisma…”

[MEDIA not found]

His Grandma a typical white person… She is the stereotypical white person. Is Obama the typical black person?

OBAMA is a good hearted person. We should just him by his deeds and actions not what his 1960’s pastor says. It’s just unfortunate that he happens to attend this church. And it’s late for him to live now as people will say he’s leaving becos of politics. But America must grow up, McCain’s pastor friend John Hagee said hurican Katrina was God’s punishment for the blacks and no one complained.

I’m guessing that most who conclude that “Obama has thrown his grandmother under the bus” have not read either of his books where he talks about his relationships with his grandparents and how he loved and understood them, their fears and strengths. It is obvious that his relationships were much like any other kid growing up with grandparents. He sometimes was embarrassed by them, sometimes thought they weren’t “cool”….but loved them every day of his life. His description of what happened when his grandma was afraid to take the bus to work one morning because she had been hassled by a black man was poignant. His grandfather didn’t want to give her a ride because he thought she should be tough and live according to their tolerant views. Obama understood her feelings and offered to drive her himself. It infuriates me that our “modern day journalists” aka “commentators” show no signs of reading these illuminating and brilliant books, either. In these books lie the truths of Obama…some a little rough….but honest. If they had read his books, as journalists of the past felt it their duty to do, part of their professional responsibility, we would not be having this ridiculous dialog about Rev. Wright. No, our television commentators jump on anything that will raise controversy and ratings. They don’t care about truth. They don’t care about the whole story. They don’t care about the state of journalism in our country. They don’t give a thought to their responsibility to educate and report honestly. So hear we are watching and listening to these same three or four sound bites over and over and over…..Have we seen any of the award winning sermons of Rev. Wright? Have we seen a list of his credentials and accolades? No. Each network claims to fair and balanced or something along those lines, and, yet, we have nothing that remotely resembles fairness or balance. It is our responsibility to sort through the “news” and do our own investigation. As Obama said, we can listen to these commentators and let these distractions keep us from the real work ahead of us, we can have one distraction after another, or we can make it our personal responsibility as Americans to find out what is true about the men and women who ask us to put our trust in them. READ, LISTEN, FILTER THE GARBAGE YOU SEE ON TV. Don’t be lazy and spew the hate gathered from buddies, blogs, commentators, THINK FOR YOURSELF. Read Rev Wright’s sermon on “The Audacity of Hope” which Barack used to title his latest book. Search out Rev. Wright’s other sermons, the awards he has won, the opinions of those who attend his church every Sunday….DO NOT JUDGE ANYONE ON THE SOUND BITES!!

Yeah, Sue is right, Obama IS a good person. He believes in hope, and change, and goodness. Did I mention he believes in CHANGE? I know, I know, because of that pesky Constitutional Amendment we are mandated for a “change” in the Oval Office? But Obama C-A-R-E-S for people. Well, not really those people whom his pastor of 20 years calls “Goddamned” from the pulpit, but the average American.

I mean, it isn’t like he is REALLY religious or anything. Most people can’t tell you if their pastor has said “God Damn America” during a recorded sermon or not. He was probably asleep. It happens to everyone! Those boring sermons go on and on and on, who can blame him? And like Sue says, John Hagee is McCain’s “friend” (huh?) so McCain is responsible for every word Hagee says. I mean, they are both WHITE! Even Obama’s own white grandmother is a racist. He said so himself. It is almost the same as sitting, listening to someone for twenty years, and claiming they “brought me to my faith”.

So what if the “uniter” has gone to a church that preaches hatred for white people? Haven’t you heard him speak?!

The man is in love with his own voice. He can’t stop talking. Seems that every day, we now get a “major speech”. If it were possible, the best thing his advisors could do would be to tape his mouth shut until November. There are still enough chowder headed voters that he’d have a shot at the White House if he never spoke again.

Obama has peaked and is now on a steady slide downhill. So long and best wishes from a typical white person.

Sue: Evene if one accepts your false analogy of McCain being friendy with Hagee, that does not make what Barak did acceptable. He still has NOT answered why he thought it was acceptable, and to support through money and time, a pastor and church that preached racist, anti-patriotic hate-mongering – even subjecting his two impresionable children to this week after week afetr week..for 20+ years !!!! NO NO NO, this is not acceptable
Shows NO JUDGEMENT / BAD JUDGEMENT / NO EXPERIENCE / COWARDICE for failure to say something against such preachings

Mary: It may be best for the wonderful orator to go to Hawaii and write a treatise on racial relations, maybe title it Profiles in Courage, or merge with Ouis Farrakhan and instead of Nation of Islam, creat a new country, the US of KKK A. This man Barak, through his affiliations with Wright & The Trinity Church has shown that he has NO JUDGEMENT / BAD JUDGEMENT / NO EXPERIENCE / Is a COWARD for failure to say something against such preachings

This man, who chose to use the American Flag as back drop on Tuesday, stopped using the lapel pin flag after 9/11 – It is clear now why. Five days (just 5 days) after 9/11 – when even people in countries that hated America, were still sypathizing with the tragedy – his mentor / spiritual leader, J. Wright, was spewing hate and anti-patriotic vitriole: the now famous “chicken coming home to roost” speech, and so Barak being the brave soul he is, in agreement with those sentiments decided hence forth he is not going to wear any symbol of American pride. At a time when most went out and bought flags to fly from where ever they could, he chose to remove his lapel pin flag !!! Now if that doesnt say a lot about this man, I am not sure what does.

You can give all the speeches in this world and write all the books you want, but the simple fact remains: Barack has still not answered one key Q. Why did he chose to stay in Trinity and listen to Wright for 20+ years and not have the courage to say something about preachings he now claims he does not agree with? WHY? Because he agreed with that? His wife – Michelle of I am for the first time proud of America – agree with that?

Shows NO JUDGEMENT / BAD JUDGEMENT / NO EXPERIENCE / COWARDICE for failure to say something against such preachings

R.I.P. – Here lies this great orator, who almost fooled enough Americans to be considered a serious candidate for Presidency, and then when the lights turned on people realized, he was the guy just peddling snakeoil the other day.

I am a 53-year-old white woman that grew-up in an all white neighborhood and schools. I was fortunate that neither of my parents ever made racist statements. I have very rarely ever made racist statements; however, if I am walking down the street I get far more afraid when I see a black man as opposed to a white man. If they are wearing a suit there is little fear.

I would say I am a “typical” white woman. I think being more afraid of an unknown black man is very common for white women.

Obama made the same statement about his grandmother in his Dreams from My Father: A Story of Race and Inheritance.

This reinforces the value of words and the right words. Had Obama said what he said later that his grandmother was not exhibiting behavior that was out of the ordinary for someone of her generation . .being afraid of black people who she probably never had much contact with either in Iowa or Hawaii the response would not have been what it is: doesn’t make her a racist rather a product of her environment and upbringing. How can anyone say that this isn’t true? Yesterday I spoke with a relative of the same age as Obama’s grandmother. He asked how I could consider voting for a ‘jungle bunny.’ Would he say that in public? Are as many people comfortable using that term as there were 20, 30, 40 years ago??? It would be helpful for all of us to focus on intent as well on the words and not jump on every misstep and fill it with meaning that wasn’t there.

No doubt, Obama is an excellent speaker (though I’d put Governor Huckabee up against him any day) and this was a good speech … about race. What I was looking for from Obama’s speech had nothing to do with “… color … of skin …” My interest was “… content of … character” … Obama’s character and why his judgment would lead him to associate himself so long-term and so intimately with a church that has advocated and even championed many comments that Obama now condemns. Obama’s speech addressed none of this.

As a typical white person I am perplexed and offended by Obama’s distancing himself from his white heritage.
It illustrates to me that he views the world through a racial filter and embraces his black heritage and disparages his white heritage.
His petty attack on his elderly self sacrificing white grandmother to make a cheap political point displays bad judgment.
He followed that performance with a radio interview where he refers to his Grandma as a typical white person.
Apparently twenty years of listening to that racist egotistical bigot Jeremiah Wright has indeed borne fruit as Obama is unable to bridge the racial gap in himself let alone in others.

Did Obama actually tell his caucasian grandmother before giving the speech that he was going to tell the whole nation about her private comments???

Obama actually has very poor judgement in that he allowed his own children to attend that church and have the hatemonger Wright be his children’s spiritual advisor.

Who are the foolish people posting on this blog that Obama is a good person and they don’t even know him!!!

Why are some of the Obama supporters such rabid zombies who close their eyes to his obvious faults? And deceptions?

Obama’s comparison of his grandmother’s private comments which injured no one, to the hate mongering and America-bashing of Pastor Wright in public is deceptive and ridiculous.

Did you know Oprah was a member of the same church, but left it??

All Obama did in his speech is use race to call attention away from the real issue of
how poor his judgement is and choosing a relationship of 20 years with such a man as Wright.

    20 years!

For someone whose whole claim for being the Democratic nominee is good judgement, he really doesn’t seem to have that much of it on important issues.

So what, he gave an anti-war speech at an anti-war rally when he was not even in the US Senate. And there were only 300 people there.

That’s his whole reason for running for President?

Barbara Lee was actually in Congress and voted against the war. She should be President just because of that one vote?

Do not be surprised by what Obama is saying. The seed of Wright’s words has ripened in Obama. As much as he tries to hide the hate that was sown in him, like seed it finds its way out into the open.

Huh? It is OK for Wright to say “god damn America” from the pulpit because, over 40 years ago there were segregated movie houses and water fountains? What exactly is the shelf life of racial victimhood? How long will it be acceptable for someone to claim that “they can have a chip on their shoulder” toward me, because of the color of my skin?! Legal discrimination against black people has been illegal since before I was born. Should I teach my children that, because they have “white” skin, they should expect black people to take a crap on them? Because of what legally happened over 40 years ago?! Should their children also expect to be treated differently because of the color of their skin instead of the content of their character? No black person 40 years or younger has ever suffered legal discrimination in America. Why on Earth should they “have a chip on their shoulder” about something that never happened to them? Against people who have a certain skin color no less?!!! Is this not the very definition of “racism”?

If an individual has wronged you, that PERSON did it. Racism is when you blame everyone who is the same color as an individual who has wronged you of also doing you wrong. Only a Leftard thinks that people are some collective group, instead of a collection of individuals.

And Up-Chuck-Abee chimed in sounding like the totally vacuous PoS that he is. There’s a shock. He won’t do what any other conservatives will do because….he does not have a clue about “conservatism”. Walk a mile in someone’s shoes? What, exactly did the good Reverend Wright suffer that he should say “god damn America” from the pulpit? That he can hate me, who wasn’t even born then, because of the color of my skin?!! GD the Reverend Wright.

There is legal racial discrimination in the United States today. The Supreme Court recently ruled that it was OK. Universities can take “race into account” in regard to admissions. It is the LAW in the United States of America that people who are very often Asian but also “white” can be discriminated against. So now, black people can hate me cause, I have white skin, and the law FAVORS them?

And either Obama or Huckabee would lead us? I can’t believe that there is someone out there who actually makes Shillary ALMOST look good.

In Obama’s autobiography…if any of you out there have READ IT, he spends a lot of time telling the story of growing up in his grandparents’ home and the love they all had for one another.Yes, his grandmother gave her blessing about sharing their experiences. …He tells the story of the morning his grandfather refused to take his grandmother to work and overhearing them arguing about it. When he learned that the reason Toots (grandma) wanted a ride instead of taking the bus as she usually did, was because she had been afraid of a black man who had hassled her the day before, Obama offered to drive her. He understood his grandmother’s fears. He also understood his grandfather’s feeling that Grandma shouldn’t be afraid, that their open minded tolerant views couldn’t accept that kind of fear. But, Barack understood, too, that Gramps wasn’t a woman, alone…I would add a woman alone of ANY color. And, in truth, many women are afraid of ANY unknown man when we are alone. I simply cannot believe the ignorance that accepts seeing and hearing these sound bites as the entire picture of who Rev. Wright is and who they believe Obama to be. How presumptuous and arrogant and sad that they judge Barack Obama for being loyal to a man who brought him to Christ. And, Jon, did you call Oprah up and ask her why she left Rev, Wright’s church or are you making an assumption without investigating? Don’t you understand that the media does all of this cutting and splicing to work people up? To make a “story”? To get better ratings? The dicier, the better. They understand that the majority of their viewers will just take everything they see and hear at face value without trying to find out any truth on their own. If those of you who continue to regurgitate the “Rev. Wright is a hatemonger” and “Barry Threw His White Grandmother Under the Bus” stories that you are being “SOLD” then you prove one thing:
“There is a principle which is a bar against all information, which is proof against all arguments and which cannot fail to keep a man in everlasting ignorance—that principle is CONTEMPT WITHOUT INVESTIGATION.” Herbert Spencer

I find it funny that you probably didn’t even consider that slurs like “Ho’bama” are exactly what Barack was talking about in his speech. Then again, your blog reeks of ignorance and barely repressed xenophobia, so I’m not really surprised. Regardless, keep on shouting into the wind!

Do you people who spew hate for Obama hate all of those who endorse him, too? If your grandmothers endorsed Obama would you hate them? All I ask is that you do some true investigation and think about what ,you who espouse to be good Christians, Jesus asks of all of us..acceptance, tolerance, understanding, peace and love. Good luck and God bless. Don’t let that hatred ruin your souls.

Maybe if Mr O being the good christian you say he is would have stood up, walked out or done something instead of head bobbing and hand clapping we would not be talking about his lack of judgment. That is what this is all about in the end. About how such a smart educated christian sits there for 20 years and listens to hate. How a smart educated christian brings his children there for years to listen to this hate. Can you tell us how that smart educated christian does that Mary?

Obama used a moral equivalancy argument to try to justify his continued association with Wright. He compared his white grandmother with Wright, because she is apprehensive about young black males on the street, which makes her the moral equivalent of Wright, and a “typical white person.”

So now you have it; the canditate of vision, unity, and hope, thinks that the “typical white person” is the moral equivalent of the racist, foaming at the mouth, hate-merchant, Minister Wright.

I do not need to go to the website, I have heard all the hate I care to hear from the Racist Rev. I would have left after just one of those hate filled rants but apparently these guys agree. Why else would that dance in the aisles and slap the good Rev on the back. I would never join a church that called itself unabashedly black or white. Those sound like code words for the KKK or New Black Panthers. Racists groups on either end of the spectrum but racist none the less. Time these clowns move into the 21 century. I think someone needs to have a sermon there telling them slavery is over and has been over for some 140 years. Also, when is the good Rev gonna do the perp walk like Imus did and come out and apologize to “the typical white person” When is he going to go on WET TV to kiss the feet of Rev Robertson? I think hell will freezer over before this clown ever apologizes. It seems like Mary here might be in contact with him maybe she can give up some insight there.

Did you know in light frequencies, black absorbs all color while white is the reflection of all color? Go here to see: http://science.howstuffworks.com/light6.htm
    and here:
    http://science.howstuffworks.com/light7.htm

Now that we have that part settled lets talk about the rights of people of color.

In my opinion when I listened to Barrack Obama’s speech he miss-represented his own grandmother’s fears as prejudice instead of one persons feelings about their life experiences. That to me is ignorant and one sided.

But beyond that Obama is also selfish, in that he took one persons fears and used them for his own political salvation (as if that was the most important factor in his life). Then the very next day he tried again to cover-up his true feelings by dismissing his own selfishness and putting that one persons fears as representing the entire white color race. That to me is prejudice, ignorant and very deceitful.

Now I don’t know about anyone else but I personally don’t want a president who is so eloquent and crafty as to use his own family for selfish gain – I thought that’s what we’re trying to get away from with Bush?

Whatever else you think of them the Clinton’s at least prove they are not so selfish as they will share some of the wealth this nation has with everyone. Because of that employment, prejudice, crime and hatred were way down during the Clinton’s rein of power. IE they just do the things that work throught trial and error and making adjustments. That is the type of eloquent and crafty leader I want at the helm.

Mary E, do your comments mean that if you can find nice words from me in print about minorities I can curse them also? When people correctly point out that David Duke is a racist PoS, do you search the web, looking for words of his that are not racist, or do you simply consider him a racist? I can say anything about anyone, as long as I also say good things too it is OK? Wrong.

How could I possibly forgive the Reverend for his comments when he has not apologized for them? He shouldn’t have to apologize because he once said “all typical white people are not racists”? Or, like Up-Chuck-abee said, he can say anything he wants to because of legal segregation over 40 years ago? Can he also blame “white people” for the black Christian slaves in Africa who are enslaved this very day by black moslems? Whitey is the reason so many black children are born without fathers in their lives in the US? Is it MY fault, because, before I was born, someone looked sideways at Rev. Wrong or called him a bad name? Don’t even get me started on what this scum-bag said about 9/11.

The best answer to you is the quote I remember from, I think, a gaming website. “Hitler was a wonderful dancer”. You can be evil incarnate, but if you have said a couple of nice things on the record, or are a good dancer, that is all that counts? We live on totally different planets.

kabookey: “WET TV” good one, it took me a second.

That is exactly what both she and you should do. David Duke has millions of words from his writings and speeches on his website, and I challenge you to find even a single sentence that comes close to the virulent racial hatred of Reverend Wright. Hint: It just ain’t there!

  • TWP says:

In Defense of Pastor Jeremiah Wright

We’ve all seen the shocking video clips and heard the inflammatory remarks uttered by Barack Obama’s spiritual mentor Pastor Jeremiah Wright. We’ve also heard the immediate outcry and outrage from the media pundits and political bloggers, as well as Obama’s carefully staged flag-festooned attempt (even if it required throwing his own nuturing white grandmother under the wheels of a PC transit bus) to immediately distance himself from the inevitable fallout resulting from Rev. Wright’s fiery sermons.

My question is: Was there ANY truth in Reverend Wright’s statements?

After giving it some considerable thought, I’ve come to the conclusion that; yes indeed, there was plenty of truth in much of what Rev. Wright said but it is uncomfortable truth and the sort of truth that doesn’t comport itself very favorably with the mass media crafted, spoon-fed, sound-bite nurtured consciences nor does this kind of truth sit well on today’s overly sensitive (mentally challenged?) digestive tracts.

Let’s take the Reverend’s most outrageous statement first:

    “GOD DAMN AMERICA!”

Now that’s certainly a left hook to the patriotic solar plexus of any God-fearing red-blooded American if I’ve ever heard one. Some would say a direct violation of God’s sacred second commandment as well as an inexcusable effrontery to our beloved nation. But I ask you, fellow Americans and Christian brothers and sisters, is such a coarse statement completely unfounded or scripturally inaccurate?

Have ye never read how the prophets of old addressed the spiritually rebellious people of God, in no uncertain terms, warning of the impending judgments of God?

Is Rev. Wright’s “GOD DAMN AMERICA!” spoken directly from his pulpit a greater offense than this country’s mutually agreed upon refusal to ‘Keep the Sabbath holy’? (Jeremiah 17:21-23) Or our leaders unabashed legislative support of the deaths of thousands of unborn children each year? (Exodus 20:13) Or this country’s military meddling and arms dealing with over a hundred foreign nations throughout the globe? Or casually excusing mass adultery (Exodus 20:14) and the flood of pornography and blatant homosexuality that permeates our culture? (Isaiah 3:9) Not in this writer’s humble estimation.

Reverend Jeremiah Wright was also deadly accurate in pointing out; that of all the various countries that possess atomic weapons it was only the U.S.A. who didn’t bat an eye to drop them on TWO civilian Japanese cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. The reverend’s words were certainly incendiary but not nearly as incendiary as the resultant firestorm that engulfed those two cities! And don’t give me that tired line of “Well many more thousands of American lives were saved by us not having to invade the Japanese mainland.” The Japanese were already a thoroughly defeated nation and were busy drafting formal terms of surrender a month BEFORE the Enola Gay was deployed.

The Wright Reverend [sic.] also had the audacity to accuse the United States of sponsoring state terrorism overseas. Can you imagine that? He specifically makes mention of campaigns against the Palestinians and black South Africans, but for the sake of exposing yet more of the truth, I would add that the scope of America’s international terrorism is much more pervasive than merely those two nations. For years, we’ve been training leftist rebels, fostering radical clerics and aiding political despots in Central America (google – the School of the Americas), Cuba and a host of countries throughout the continent of Africa, we manipulated the Iranian government and put the Shah in power (then stood idly by when he was overthrown), we bombed the Christian nation of Serbia for 78 straight days killing 3500 Serbian civilians so that an Islamic nation would be a permanent fixture in the Balkans. We are actively assisting in the mass migration of millions of Christ-rejecting Muslims and Jews into every formerly White Christian country including our own. Our government has willfully been laundering billions of dollars of drug money from Columbia, Mexico and Afghanistan while much of our youth pays the plenty of death and addiction while the tax payer is left to foot the bill for their lengthy incarcerations in our over-crowed prisons.

What about terrorism of the homespun variety? Our government has made it mandatory that every public school child be inoculated with a series of mercury tainted, under-tested experimental vaccines resulting in an unprecedented rise in autism and asthma while also creating thousands of drug dependent school aged children (Ritalin). Our soldiers (as if being sent to fight in un-Constitutional, undeclared wars overseas wasn’t bad enough), likewise, are used as human guinea pigs and suffering many bizarre side-effects from their mandatory medical shot regimens. Parents are being jailed for simply spanking their rebellious children(as the Bible commands in Proverbs 23:13-14) and the Child Protection Agency is forcibly taking those children away from their homes and families. I ask the Supreme court members, “What is reasonable about gun control laws that force our women and elderly (as well as all law abiding citizens) to be utterly defenseless when they leave the confines of their homes?”

Not even a deaf person could be rightly excused from refusing to hear the uproarious cackle and tumult from the multitude of America’s “chickens that have come home to roost”.
