Investors Business Daily has some debate questions to be asked of Matthews by the GOP candidates:
They should ask what Matthews, who has worked for four Democratic politicians, including President Carter, disliked so much about America when he wrote Carter’s infamous 1979 “malaise” speech in which the American people were blamed for a collapsing economy and Soviet expansionism.
If he questions the GOP candidates on Iraq, they should ask what he thought about Carter watching as the Soviets invaded Afghanistan. They could also ask him what words of advice he whispered in Carter’s ear as our hostages twisted in the wind for 444 days as Carter’s foreign policy crashed and burned in the Iranian desert.
If he asks about the war on terror, they should reply: “Chris, do you agree that the war on terror and the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan might not have been necessary, and that 9/11 might never have occurred, had your boss not ushered in the world’s first Islamofascist dictatorship and a state sponsor of terror by undercutting our ally, the Shah of Iran?”

Chris Matthews got his way. I don’t know why NBC bothers to invite any of the candidates other than Mitt, Rudy, John and Fred. Heck, Duncan Hunter was only asked one question! Pathetic!!!! I will always appreciate the talking heads picking out candidates for us.
You know, you might surmise that NBC would want to ask a ranking member of the Banking Committee and a member of the foreign trade committee for his insights into the economy and trade. But that would be like asking a physician for his thoughts on health care. Not gonna happen.
